Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Schweiger

Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Schweiger received his Dr. rer. nat. degree in chemistry with the Professor Heiner J. Gores at the University of Regensburg (2004).

He joined EVA Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH (Munich) as a development engineer for HEV energy storage systems in 2005. In this position he was appointed as an engineering consultant to BMW AG (Munich). January 2007 he joined the HEV department of Continental AG (Berlin). In this company he worked as an expert for lithium ion batteries, In 2008 he was appointed as project leader for energy storage systems in the same company. In this position, he was leading series development projects for HEV and EV battery systems as well one basic research project for the development of 5 V Lithium ion cells. He was also part time lecturer on electrochemical energy storage systems at the Technical University of Berlin (2009-2011).

2011 Prof. Dr. Schweiger was appointed as Professor for Automotive Electronics and Electric Mobility at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt. He is currently establishing a research group at this university. The primary field of his group are energy storage systems for automotive applications and automotive safety of electric vehicles. His workgroup of 10 coworkers is working on five industry and government financed research projects in the field of automotive energy storage systems. He is also director of study programs in the field electric engineering and electric mobility.
